The sleepy town of Amurri suddenly rejuvenated last weekend as Nollywood stars stormed there to rally round one of their own, comic-actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu who was burying his late mum, Mrs. Victoria Okafor on that day.
Among the stars that were at Amurri were Nkem Owoh{Osuofia}, Patience Ozokwor{Mama G},Emeka Ike, Ken Erics,Victor Osuagwu, Prince Emeka Ani, Brownny Igboegwu, Dede One Day, Stan. K, Emeka Rollas, Dauda and Zolu Adigwe.
Others were Diewaite Ikpechukwu, Offialagu Mbaka, Actress Uche Ogbodo as well as Movie directors,Andy Chukwu. Also, musicians J. Martins, Nigga Raw, Comedians Klint De Drunk, Fred Bright, Queen Benedicta Akpana, Miss Heritage Nigeria 2014/2015 and a host of other top celebrities were present at the funeral rites.
The two -day superlative burial rites temporarily brought the community to a stand still as most of the natives thronged the burial venue to catch a glimpse of their favourite movie stars. Osuofia and Mr. Ibu took the shine off the ceremony when they greeted each other in a hilarious way, leaving the sympathizers reeling in laughter. They were later joined by Mama G whom many were delighted to meet at the ceremony.
The burial rites was coordinated by Mr. Ibu’s manager, Don Singles Nwazor who ensured that all the stars at the ceremony were entertained with choice wines and assorted delicacies for the two days the carnival-like-burial ceremony lasted.
