The couple who have three children together, separated in February 2015 even though Olatunbosun who is an okada rider, had on several occasions accused his ex-wife of adultery prior to the divorce, yet he pleaded with her not to divorce him.

On that fateful day, a two-man assailant team had reportedly come to the woman's shop on April 21 at about 7.30pm, pretending to buy from her. While she was trying to give them their 'change', they poured a substance which later tested positive for acid on her.

The attackers allegedly told the woman that they were sent by her ex-husband before fleeing.

She was thereafter rushed to a nearby hospital by sympathisers, from where she was referred to the General Hospital, Ile Epo, for intensive care.

According to a police source, “Olatunbosun initially denied hiring the thugs. But after a comprehensive interrogation, he confessed, saying the woman had been flaunting her beauty and committing adultery. He is giving us useful information to track the fleeing suspects.”

Olatunbosun's case brought before a Magistrate Court in Lagos on two counts of assault has however been adjourned till June 25, 2015.
