Golden Eaglets Allegedly Unhappy After Receiving Paltry N20,000 Each

Members of the FIFA U-17 World Cup winning squad, the Golden Eaglets have
confided in NIGERIAN PILOT that they are yet to recover from the shock after the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF handed them a paltry N20, 000 each before they dispersed in Abuja last Thursday.“It’s surely not the best way to treat heroes.

The money they gave us could not even fetch us flight tickets to take us home to see our loved ones,’’ said one of the players who did not want his name in print for fear of victimisation by officials of the football federation.
Another player said on phone yesterday:
“I’ve heard about how badly players have been treated in the past. I didn’t think ours would come so soon. I am still, however, grateful to God we came home with the trophy. The victory has opened new doors of opportunity which we are already exploring,’’ said the player who is on verge of sealing a lucrative professional contract with an English Premier League club.

Players and officials of the U-17 NationalTeam returned to the country last
Wednesday, following a successful campaign at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in
Chile. They were driven round parts of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory in a motorcade before the convoy arrived at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The new Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalong, later had dinner with the team at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The team will be decamped on Thursday, to reconvene for a presidential reception which Nigerian Pilot gathered, has been scheduled for November 28 in Abuja.

The team helped Nigeria become the first country to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup title for a fifth time in Chile recently. The Eaglets also became only the second side to retain the FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 2-0 win against Mali in the grand finale. A key member of the team, Victor Osimhen, clinched the Adidas Silver Ball for the highest goal scorer of the tournament where he banged in a record-breaking ten goals. Captain Kelechi Nwakali was also adjudged
the most valuable player and went home with the Adidas Golden Ball award.
He scored three goals, including two penalties, and provided a further three
assists, a haul that also brought him the Adidas Bronze Boot.

2 Dead and 7 Arrested After Police Raid Suburban Paris Apartment
When police attempted to storm an apartment in the northern Paris suburb of St Denis early Wednesday morning, a woman wearing an explosive suicide vest detonated her device, the Associated Press reports, killing herself and another man. Seven other people were arrested.
\

In addition to the woman who detonated her suicide vest, a man in the apartment died when a grenade exploded, the New York Times reports. Five men in the apartment were arrested and a man and a woman nearby were also detained.
An unnamed senior police official told the AP that he believed Abdelhamid Abaaoud, thought to have been in Syria, was inside the apartment. The office of the Paris prosecutor confirmed to the Times that Abaaoud was the target of the raid, but it is still unclear whether he was actually in the apartment.

15 year old schoolgirl missing after going to meet a man she met on Facebook

A 15 year old schoolgirl  Kayleigh Haywood disappeared after going to see a man she met on Facebook.

Two men have been arrested after the 15-year-old, who was last seen on Friday, told her parents she was going for a sleepover at her best friend’s house.

But it is believed the popular youngster secretly met a man she had been in contact with on social media .

A source told Daily Mirror

“Kayleigh had told her best friend about a man who had been messaging her on Facebook.“They were both going to meet this man on Friday evening, but earlier in the week Kayleigh announced she was no longer going to meet him"Usually she would spend the weekend with her best friend and her family. But Kayleigh told the girl that she would be going to visit an auntie instead.”
It has emerged that her mobile phone was discovered by a dog walker in Sence Valley Forest Park in Ibstock, Leics, on Saturday afternoon. Her family, of Measham, Leics, said they “fear the worst” as she would never have willingly parted with her mobile.

In a statement, Kayleigh’s mum and dad, Martin Whitby, described her as a bubbly, loving, caring girl.
$2.9b arms procurement: Buhari orders arrest of Dasuki, others

$2.9b arms procurement: Buhari orders arrest of Dasuki, others

President Muhammdu Buhari Tueday night ordered the arrest of the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (Rtd), for allegedly siphoning billions of dollars earmarked for arms purchases.
In ordering the arrest, President Buhari observed that the actions of the erstwhile NSA brought the nation to international ridicule as the failure to procure the arms incapacitated the military in the face of the insurgency orchestrated by the Boko Haram sect.
Former national security adviser of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki (R), speaks with his lawyer Ahmed Raji, during his trial at the federal high court in Abuja, on September 1, 2015. Nigerian prosecutors on September 1, 2015 slapped a charge of unlawful possession of arms against Dasuki. Dasuki was arraigned on a "one-count charge of being in possession of firearms without licence," Prosecutor Mohammed Diri told the federal high court in Abuja. AFP PHOTO

The order was also extended to several others who were found culpable in the saga.
The development followed  the release of the interim report by the presidential committee investigating arms procurement.
The president had on August 31 set up the 13 man committee to audit the procurement of arms and equipment in the Armed Forces and Defence sector from 2007 to date.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, stated that Dasuki expended $2,193,815,000.83 on arms, a figure he said did not include grants received by the police and the Department of State Services, DSS, from state governments.
The statement read thus: “As part of the findings, the committee has analyzed interventions from some organizations that provided funds to the Office of the National Security Adviser, Defence Headquarters, Army Headquarters, Naval Headquarters, and Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, both in local and foreign currencies.
“So far the total extra budgetary interventions articulated by the committee is Six Hundred and Forty Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Seventeen Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Five Hundred Naira and Eighteen Kobo (N643,817,955,885.18).
“The foreign currency component is to the tune of Two Billion, One Hundred and Ninety Three Million, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Thousand US Dollars and Eighty Three Cents ($2,193,815,000.83).
“These amounts exclude grants from the state governments and funds collected by the DSS and Police. It was observed that in spite of this huge financial intervention, very little was expended to support defence procurement.
“The committee also observed that of 513 contracts awarded at $8,356,525,184.32; N2,189,265,724,404.55 and €54,000.00; Fifty Three (53) were failed contracts amounting to $2,378,939,066.27 and N13,729,342,329.87 respectively.
“Interestingly, it was noted that the amount of foreign currency spent on failed contracts was more than double the $1bn loan that the National Assembly approved for borrowing to fight the insurgency in the North East.  “The committee also discovered that payments to the tune of Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N3,850,000,000.00) were made to a single company by the former NSA without documented evidence of contractual agreements or fulfilment of tax obligations to the federal goverment.
“Further findings revealed that between March 2012 and March 2015, the erstwhile NSA, Lt Col MS Dasuki (rtd) awarded fictitious and phantom contracts to the tune of N2,219,188,609.50, $1,671,742,613.58 and €9,905,477.00. The contracts which were said to be for the purchase of four Alpha Jets, 12 helicopters, bombs and ammunition were not executed and the equipment were never supplied to the Nigerian Air Force, neither are they in its inventory.
“Even more disturbing was the discovery that out of these figures, two companies were awarded contracts to the tune of N350,000,000.00, $1,661,670,469.71 and €9,905,477.00 alone. This was without prejudice to the consistent non-performance of the companies in the previous contracts awarded.”
Adesina in the statement added that the former NSA also directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to transfer a certain amount to accounts domiciled in the United Kingdom and the United States.
“Additionally, it was discovered that the former NSA directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to transfer the sum of $132,050,486.97 and €9,905,473.55 to the accounts of Societe D’equipmente Internationaux in West Africa, United Kingdom and United States of America for un-ascertained purposes, without any contract documents to explain the transactions.
“The findings made so far are extremely worrying considering that the interventions were granted within the same period that our troops fighting the insurgency in the North East were in desperate need of platforms, military equipment and ammunition. Had the funds siphoned to these non performing companies been properly used for the purpose they were meant for, thousands of needless Nigerian deaths would have been avoided.
“Furthermore, the ridicule Nigeria has faced in the international community would have been avoided. It is worrisome and disappointing that those entrusted with the security of this great nation were busy using proxies to siphon the national treasury, while innocent lives were wasted daily.
“In light of these findings, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the relevant organizations arrest and bring to book, all individuals who have been found complicit in these illegal and fraudulent acts”, the statement submitted.

Eww..Beauty blogger explains she keeps her skin soft - by covering her face in sperm

A beauty blogger, who has more than 150k followers on social media, is promoting an usual approach to skincare - covering her face in SPERM.
Single mum-of-two and former glamour model Tracy Kiss says applying this inexpensive cosmetic keeps her skin soft and healthy-looking.
However, the 28-year-old, from Wendover, Bucks., is keen to help others try this and has posted a tutorial vlog to explain the benefits of semen and demonstrate how to put it on.

She explained she gets her daily amount from a friend who delivers it in a clean takeaway pot adding: "I am not involved in the semen extraction".
She said: "I think a lot of people are concerned with the thought of putting semen on their face but it is a very natural thing and very healthy thing to do.
"Semen builds babies, they come out very soft and have beautiful skin, and it leaves my skin nice and soft so I'm very happy to use this as a facial.
"It feels like a face pack that pulls the skin inwards, it feels so glossy to wipe it off. "Its like having a kind of oil on the face or a wax where it just glides beautifully against the water.
"Its so cooling and soothing."
She added it should be rubbed in with a circular motion ensuring even coverage.
She then leaves it on for between five and 20 minutes before removing it with water.

Tracy claims the product has eased her rosacea - a condition she has suffered from since birth and which causes a reddening of the face, burning and spots.

She said she came across the idea after speaking to a beauty therapist about her condition with a view to having an acid facial peel but decided to try natural remedies.
She added she read about the popularity of the treatment in the US and so ironically opted to go for the definitive manmade product.
Miss Kiss is also an avid fundraiser who has been completing a variety of challenges and giving donors a free topless photo.

She hopes to add to this cash pot with the sales of her recently published debut erotic novel .

She posted the facial video on YouTube on Tuesday and it has already had hundreds of views.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Thank you, God, for giving me another year of life.
Thank you for all the people who remembered me today
by sending cards, and letters, gifts and good wishes.

Thank you for all the experience of this past year;
for times of success which will always be happy memories,
for times of failure which reminded me of my own weakness and of my need for you,
for times of joy when the sun was shining,
for times of sadness which drove me to you.

Forgive me
for the hours I wasted,
for the chances I failed to take,
for the opportunities I missed this past year.
Help me in the days ahead to make this the best year yet,
and through it to bring good credit to myself,
happiness and pride to my loved ones,
and joy to you. Amen...

Nigerian Navy hands over 6 vessels, 15 suspected oil thieves to NSCDC

A VESSEL SUSPECTED TO BE USED FOR CRUDE OIL THEFT FROM A MAJOR PIPELINE IN DUTCH ISLAND, IMPOUNDED BY THE NIGERIAN NAVY AT OKIRIKA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF RIVERS STATE
A VESSEL SUSPECTED TO BE USED FOR CRUDE OIL THEFT FROM A MAJOR PIPELINE IN DUTCH ISLAND, IMPOUNDED BY THE NIGERIAN NAVY AT OKIRIKA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF RIVERS The Nigerian Navy in Port Harcourt on Sunday handed over six vessels and 15 suspected oil thieves to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for prosecution.
Speaking at the handover, Olusegun Soyemi, Executive Officer, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder, said that the suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal bunkering.
He said that one of the suspects was arrested while discretely discharging (about 108,000 litres of) diesel from a large wooden boat into five vessels without license.
“On October 20, we got intelligence report about an illegal bunkering activity at a private jetty situated opposite the busy Slaughter market around Trans-Woji area in Port Harcourt.
“On arrival at the jetty, our troops accosted five vessels and a large wooden boat loading products suspected to be stolen diesel.
“The vessels, MV Denis, MV Faith, MV Lum VII, MV Eliora, and FP Comfort had no approval from Navy headquarters for the transaction,” he said.
Mr. Soyemi said that the prime suspect, who doubled as middleman for two companies fingered in the case, had provided useful information during preliminary investigations.
He said that the owners of the vessels were subsequently invited for questioning and had tended their statements.
Mr. Soyemi added that the owners of the vessels would further be investigated by the NSCDC while 20 other suspects arrested at the jetty were released after it was discovered that they were not be involved in the case.
The officer said that the Navy also handed over a 3,000 metric ton ship and its 14 member crew who allegedly attempted to steal crude oil from a major pipeline in the state.
“On October 2, troops of NNS Pathfinder impounded a 3,000 metric ton ship, MT Everest, which anchored at a location (few meters away from a pipeline) without any official reason to anchor there.
“We discovered the vessel which had been in operation since 2007 had no certificate of registration and clearance from the Nigerian Ports Authority and approval from the Navy in all of its operations.
“While examining the vessel, we discovered that the cargo tanks had been emptied and cleaned with hoses connected to the cargo tanks indicating its readiness to load petroleum products,” he said.
Mr. Soyemi, a Captain, said that none of the crew members had certificate and competency to serve aboard the merchant tanker ship.
He warned oil thieves not to sabotage oil and gas installations in the area and assured Nigerians that the Navy would not rest on its oars until illegal bunkering activities had stopped.
Receiving the suspects and vessels, Steven Morgan, NSCDC Head of anti-Vandal Unit, Rivers command, said that thorough and forensic investigation would be carried out on the suspects and vessels.
He said that the suspects would be prosecuted if found guilty.

10 Signs You’re In The Right Relationship

10 Signs You’re In The Right Relationship

Image result for people in love
According to Familyshare, Crisis can come upon couples unexpectedly and rattle even the most solid of relationships. No matter how smitten you are with your honey, doubt may creep into your mind, clouding your vision of a perfect match. So how do you really know if this relationship is right for you? Here are a few ways to find out:
1. Moral support
When your friends and family want to see you and your partner together, there is something to savor. Sometimes outside perspective is needed to see things you are too close and emotionally invested in to appreciate or view clearly. Don’t base the value of your relationship on the opinion of others, but listen to the voices you love and respect.
2. Fair fights
When a fight does break out, it’s a clean one. Your arguments work toward resolving issues and solving problems while still appreciating each other’s feelings and needs.
3. New issues
Your issues are new issues. Past problems actually get worked out and don’t come back up to bite you. Old resentments don’t get brought up in new arguments, and old dirt doesn’t get thrown around in current conversations.
4. Hard work
You’re both willing to put in the work. You jump into action without skipping a beat, and you work on an issue until it’s over. No hesitations.
5. Growing together
You and your partner are evolving together emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Growing closer is easy and a natural course of your relationship.
6. Major change
You are both naturally changing for the better because you are happier being who you are this new way. Not because he asked you to change, and certainly not to keep him. Maybe you never wanted children, and now you can’t wait to be a parent with your partner. Or maybe he always needed his space, and now being away from you feels incomplete.
7. Life partners
You don’t see yourself or your life without him. And you know he feels the same way.
8. The L-word
“Love” rolls off the tongue effortlessly. You can’t imagine not saying it; that would hurt too much. You need to say it, you want to say it and it brings you joy. And it’s the same for him.
9. Spiritual connection
There’s just something cosmic that pulls you two back together when you drift apart. It’s unexplainable. But it’s there. And it’s always for the better for both of you.
10. Love is blind
You don’t see anyone else as a potential partner, and you’re not interested in building any kind of connection with another. No one comes close to the amazing person you have. Physical attraction may pop in and surprise you, but the desire for intimacy or emotional connection doesn’t develop.
Knowing when you are right where you should be can be difficult in the midst of it. Hindsight may be 20/20, and if you’re the type that doesn’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, keep your eyes open and see what blessings you have in your love. Let this list encourage you to keep going and keep the faith when the road gets rough and blue skies go gray. You can build a beautiful home for yourself and your family when you appreciate everything and everyone in it.

Man kills girlfriend for rejecting marriage proposal in Imo

Man kills girlfriend for rejecting marriage proposal in Imo

 Rape

A source, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, told Vanguard that the girl was shot in the head at close range by her supposed boyfriend in the village.
The source recalled that the deceased was, last Saturday, lured out of her family home by the boyfriend at about 7p.m.
“Some people, who were close to the scene of the crime that night, reported that as soon as the boy saw the girl approaching him, he fired at her,” the source said.
Another source claimed that soon after shooting the girl, the young man tried to smuggle Onyinyechi’s lifeless body into his car but scampered for safety when a woman raised alarm, which attracted several people to the scene.

‘He paid for the girl’s education’
Another story, however, had it that the boyfriend was responsible for the entire educational expenses of the girl, who later ditched him.
A resident of the area said: “We heard that the boy picked the bills for the girl’s education, but that the girl later abandoned the boy and opted to marry another man.
“We have even heard that the marriage has been fixed before the boyfriend struck.”
The 22-year-old Onyinyechi was, until her untimely death, a final year student of Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area of the state.
Although the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, a deputy superintendent of police, could not be reached at press time, a reliable source in the state police headquarters, Owerri, confirmed that police had waded into the matter.
The police source said: “Police have started investigating the incident and the late girl’s parents are cooperating with us. Police will get to the root of the case.”

Boko Haram: US Sends Troops, Drones To Cameroon

Boko Haram: US Sends Troops, Drones To Cameroon

us troops
The United States is sending 300 US troops along with surveillance drones to Cameroon to bolster a West African effort to counter the Boko Haram sect, US officials said.
In a notification to Congress, President Barack Obama said an advance force of about 90 military personnel began deploying on Monday to Cameroon, with the consent of the Yaounde government.
The troops will “conduct airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations in the region,” Obama said.
“These forces are equipped with weapons for the purpose of providing their own force protection and security, and they will remain in Cameroon until their support is no longer needed,” he added
US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the troops would provide intelligence to a multi-national task force being set up to fight Boko Haram, composed of troops from Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, Chad and Benin Republic.
Boko Haram, which wants to carve out an Islamist caliphate and has allied itself to Islamic State, earlier this year stepped up cross-border attacks on Nigeria’s neighbours.
On Sunday, two female suicide bombers killed nine people in the town of Mora in Cameroon’s Far North region, employing a tactic increasingly favoured by Boko Haram.
The American officials said the US soldiers would deploy initially to the city of Garoua in northern Cameroon, not far from the Nigerian border. The force will include Predator drones for surveillance.
The White House said the move was not in response to any changed assessment of threat in the region. The US has no combat troops in Africa, but has been increasing support to allies battling Boko Haram in the region.
